JAE Community Dance Group

The JAE Community Dance Group offers a seasonal performance experience open to dancers of all levels, backgrounds, and abilities. Participants are invited to join Jean Appolon, Founder and Artistic Director of JAE, for weekly one-hour rehearsals accompanied by renowned Haitian Master Drummers Josil Rebert and Arnaud Lauture.

Rooted in the rich traditions of Haitian Folkloric dance and music, each season’s choreography is thoughtfully crafted around a central theme and rhythm, infusing each movement with cultural depth and artistic expression. Dancers will have the opportunity to perform at select events throughout the Greater Boston area, including Banboche —JAE’s vibrant annual community celebration of dance, music, and culture.

Please note: Community Dancers are asked to attend at least 7 of the 8 rehearsals and must be available to perform at Banboche on Saturday, November 1.
