Join us for a free virtual event to hear how Jean Appolon Expressions (JAE) brings hope, healing, and connection to a global community by sharing the liberating power of Haitian Folkloric Dance. A live-streamed panel - featuring JAE leadership and award-winning Haitian-American novelist Edwidge Danticat - will discuss the 16th annual Summer Dance Institute and its ongoing work to uplift youth while strengthening connections between Haiti, Dominican Republic, and the United States. JAE panelists include Jean Appolon (Founder and Artistic Director) and Raphaelle Francois (Summer Dance Institute Educator). Special guests Ruthzee Louijeune (Boston City Councilor At-Large) and Catherine T. Morris (Director of Arts + Culture, The Boston Foundation) will provide opening remarks. The event will be moderated by Nineequa Blanding, public health leader and JAE consultant.
