In a fun and inviting format, Jean Appolon will teach the folkloric dances of his native Haiti. No prior experience necessary. Following the dance workshop, participants will be invited to join in a discussion about their experiences of immigration.

Jean Appolon is starting a new project entitled “LAKOU AYITI,” a full-length dance production that contemplates the idea of home, what we give up when we leave home, and where we find/or don't find belonging. Participants will then have the opportunity to remain involved with the project in the coming months.
