South African Fusion with Bisi

    • Day/Time:  Mondays from 6-7 pm

    • Winter Class Dates: January 12th to March 30th

      • No Class: 1/19, 2/16

    • Location: JAE Dance Center

    • Description: This vibrant class blends traditional South African movement—including Xhosa, Zulu, Tswana, and Sotho—with contemporary street styles and dances from across the African continent. The class begins with an energizing cardio warm-up rooted in African movement vocabulary, followed by stretching and strength-building exercises to ground the body.

Dancers will explore traveling sequences and across-the-floor progressions that highlight rhythm, footwork, and cultural expression. The class concludes with a joyful combination danced together to live drumming.

Open to movers of all backgrounds and experience levels—come ready to sweat, learn, and celebrate the richness of African dance traditions!
