Public Performances

Our teens have represented JAE on stage both by performing and by leading youth movement exercises.

  • June, 2019: Performed at The Lyric Stage Theatre during JAE’s professional company production week of Vwayaj and lead movement for youth audience members

  • June, 2019 Dance for World Community

  • April, 2019 JAE Spring Break Teen Intensive performance at Boston Children’s Museum

  • July, 2018: Boston Youth Dance Festival at the Boston Children's Museum

  • June, 2018: Dance for World Community

  • June, 2018: Fest of Us at the Dance Complex

  • March, 2018: Assisted with youth audience participation during JAE's Family Show at the Boston Center for the Arts

Established in 2017, our teen apprentice program allows 4-6 dedicated students to take class and rehearse with JAE three times a week, for an entire year.

In addition to learning about Haitian Folkloric dance and strengthening their modern technique, our teen apprentices learn about what it is like to be a part of a professional, collaborative dance company. They work closely with company dancers and perform alongside them at professional venues throughout the Boston area.
