Volunteer Initiatives
JAE would love the help of our community members and fellow dance enthusiasts!
We are currently looking for volunteers to help us with our upcoming events in the Greater Boston area and our community programming at the JAE Dance Center in Nubian Square-Roxbury. These initiatives are a great opportunity to network, develop experience in arts engagement, and gain a behind-the-scenes look into JAE’s programs. You can submit to our Interest Form at any time. We’ll follow up with individuals whose qualifications and availability align with our needs.
We ask that community members who are 18 years or older complete the form to share more about your availability and interests in our Volunteer Initiatives.
Joins us for community-building and tabling at JAE performances/events in the Greater Boston Area. The person in this role would:
- Set up a table of organizational materials (postcards, bookmarks, fliers, photos etc.)
- Engage event attendees by sharing information about JAE offerings
- Sell JAE merchandise to help support the company
*Training is provided before your first shift. In exchange for your time commitment, you receive free admission to the event and an invitation to attend an open rehearsal for the dance company.
Collaborates with our team to facilitate studio operations and our community class programming at the JAE Dance Center. Shifts would generally be 3-5 hours per week, based on your scheduled availability. Tasks would include:
- Performing studio opening and closing protocol during your shift
- Caretaking for the studio to maintain its safety, tidiness, and efficient use
- Managing the studio entrance and registering class attendeesÂ
- Engaging community members by sharing information about JAE offerings, studio amenities, and studio rentals
*Training is provided before your first shift. In exchange for your time commitment, you will receive credits to attend JAE workshops and classes for free.
